The Redlands Sporting Club Pipe Band performed as part of a mass band at the end of James Morrison’s “World Of Brass” performance for the G20 cultural celebrations on River Stage in Brisbane. The bands emerged out of fog provided by a smoke machine and marched down through the crowds to “Scotland the Brave” followed by a moving rendition of “Amazing Grace”.
December and January are quiet months for our pipe band with rehearsals wound down for the summer vacation. We have played at the Redlands Sporting Club on Friday nights and the band will have their Christmas party early in the new year.
Once again, we thank the Bocce Club for the use of the courts for practice on Thursday nights and thank the Sporting Club for their generous sponsorship which has enabled us to get new drums for our tenors. 2015 will see us out and about in the community again where we are looking forward to trying our new repertoire and encouraging some younger players to join the band.
