Redlands Pipe Band Performing
The pipe band season has started with Highland Gatherings and competitions looming. Members of the Sporting Club pipe band have played at Ormiston House’s Celtic afternoon recently and we were part of the St Patrick’s Day march in the Brisbane CBD in March.
Some of our retired members continue to entertain at community events and nursing home morning teas in our community. These are often held weekdays, when other members are not available due to work commitments.
The band will be part of the Cleveland ANZAC Day march. This is always a commitment that the band takes seriously to show respect to all those who have died, suffered and returned from war, and to remember their families. We also go out to the Renaissance Village to perform for residents there.
The band will be playing at a number of school fetes in the Redlands. We hope to interest and recruit some new, younger members for the band. It is also a goal of the band to compete later in the year at Ipswich.
We once again thank the Bocce club for the use of their courts for practice on Thursday nights and the Redlands Sporting Club for their generous support.
For more information about the band please contact Kevin on 0417 190 597 or to book a piper, mini-band or full band for an event, please call Band Organiser, Chris on 3399 1399.
