Gladiator tournament for our youngest members August 2016.

Our dedicated Elite Team who have been training with the Queensland team, travelled south to compete in the Australian Karate Federation National Titles held at the Glen Waverley Netball Stadium in Melbourne in August. The hard work definitely showed through with these athletes performing to a very high standard on their first time on this National stage:

  • Seth Coghill – Children’s Male Kumite
  • Guy Sheen – Junior Male Kumite
  • Varun Kumar – Cadet Male Kumite
  • Violetta D’Winter – Cadet Female Kumite
  • Clinton De Bruijn – Men’s Kumite  – retired 3rd round due to injury

These SKA members continue to inspire our younger members through their performance and coaching during classes. Next year we hope to take a much larger group through.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Organising Committee (TOCOG) has confirmed that Karate has been added to the 2020 line up, so fingers crossed these kids have a huge international future ahead of them.

During August we also held yet another successful Gladiator and beginner’s Tournament for all our upcoming competitors. A fun day was had by all especially on the jumping castle. We look forward to another jam packed Gladiator and beginner’s Tournament in October.

Looking towards his Shodan Ho grading this year is young Vishnu December. Good luck to everyone grading at the end of the year.

With classes running 7 days a week throughout the Redlands and Bayside catering to all ages and fitness levels there has never been a better time to inquire about joining. Call 3396 0980, check out our Facebook page or go to www.sportskarateaustralia.com.au
