Sparring Training

Sparring Training

What an enthusiastic start to the year for Sports Karate Australia and all our students.  Classes started back in the first week of the school term with much excitement.  All our classes are continuing to see a great flow of new students both young and not so young wishing to join in the fun and fitness.
Young Karate Student
Competitions are in full swing this term with the QKA Summer Invitational Championships scheduled for mid-March with an impressive group of students set to compete.  There will be some tough competitors at this tournament but the SKA students have been prepared well.  The KBI Tournament in Noosa is scheduled for late March and the JKF open in early April.  The Ozawa Cup in Las Vegas is an international event always on our radar and this April sees yet another group of young athletes making the journey.  For Shihan Rene this is an important event to attend so he may participate in the many seminars on offer.  We look forward to the new technics he brings back every year.
Specialist monthly seminars presented by Hanshi Dr Patrick McCarthy and our Jiu Jitsu Master Shihan Tom Bellamy are all booked in for the year, with everyone looking forward to the new curriculum these two gentlemen have planned.
We all enjoyed our Club Karate Open Day with Kids and Beginners Carnival held at Hilliard’s State School in early March.  This was a fantastic introduction into tournaments with great levels of participation from all of the clubs’ many class groups plus our Elite Team.
With classes running seven days a week throughout the Redlands and the Bayside catering to all ages and fitness levels there has never been a better time to inquire about joining.
