Golf Report September 2018

The past few months have been a very busy time for the club with two of our trophy events being completed, a bus trip to Murwillumbah and the first round of the Club Championships completed.
The first of the trophy events was the Winter Cup, a 4BBB Stroke event played at Palm Meadows on 8 July with a field of 32 competing. The winners of the trophy were Mick Sinn and Ian Smyth with a score of 65, with the runner-up being Bob Sturdy and Dave Gibbons on 66.
The final of the Match Play Trophy was played at Windaroo on 5 August. The winner of the event was Dave Jackson who used his superior handicap advantage to defeat Tony McKinless 8 & 6.
After these games we played two “draw of the card” games. One a Gentsomes Foursomes on our bus trip to Murwillumbah and the other a 4 Man Ambrose played at Howeston on Father’s Day. Both of these event allow the members to relax a bit during their games with good attendances at each game.
The first round of our Club Championship were played at Redland Bay with some very good scores handed in which should make for some interesting golf for the final round.
