Golf Report July 2016

This year has seen an increase in attendance numbers at all games with a slight increase in new members as well. For the first time in many years we have managed to get through the first six months without a single game being washed out.
We have completed two of our trophy events so far this year. The first was a 4BBB Stableford played at Riverlakes, with the winners being David Jackson and Bob Sturdy with 46 points. The second event was a 2 Man Ambrose played on our first ever visit to Ashgrove, with the winners being brothers Ricky and Tony McKinless with 54¼.
Our first bus trip of the year was to Beerwah which was another venue we had not played at for many years. The event for the day was a new format called Gentsome Foursomes with the winners being Neil Pascoe, Ricky McKinless, Eugene Vanhorssen and Kevan Lucas with 136 points.
We are now entering the winter months of the season so this is sure to test the resolve of members to turn out early on a Sunday morning.
