Golf Report January 2016

Posted on Wednesday, 23 December 2015

The past few months have been a very busy time for the club with the Club Championships being played as well as our normal club fixtures being completed on 13th December. The Champions in each grade were: – A Grade: Steve Sturdy, B Grade: Darren Munro, C Grade: Paul McMahon. The Club Champion, being the player with the best gross score over the two rounds, was Steve Sturdy. The final of our Match Play Trophy was played at Surfers Paradise in November with Frank Chambers being victorious 7&5 over Tony McKinless.
The annual Presentation of Trophies was held at the Redlands Sporting Club in conjunction with our Christmas Lunch after our final game of the year at Howeston. We must say a special thank you to Drummond Golf for their support in sponsoring the event for the day and also ensuring that all members present at the function received a prize for their involvement.
The AGM was held recently at the Club with the committee for 2016 being elected. We head in to next year with a new President, David Plant, taking over from Dave Jackson who was at the helm for the past seven years. The club thanks Dave for his time and effort over that period and it is good to know that he will still be actively involved with the golf club.
We will be having a short break over the Christmas period, with our first game for 2016 scheduled for Carbrook on Sunday, 10th January. We play every second Sunday at different venues in the metropolitan and coast areas. We also have two bus trips arranged next year to Beerwah and Toowoomba.
If you are looking to have a social game of golf on a Sunday morning and increase your physical activity please contact Eddie Wilkins on 0414904914 or rscsgolf@gmail.com.
