Fred de Campo Cup Winners – Seb Ricca and Barbara Jones with Fred de Campo

Luciano & Donna Sartor Cup Winners – Elena Bunin, Barbara Jones & Maria Parlato with Donna & Luciano Sartor
Over the past few months our members have been kept busy playing bocce socially and competitively.
Every Wednesday morning our members meet at the bocce courts to play bocce socially between 9am and 12 noon. This is a great time for new players to join and learn to play bocce and enjoy a morning cuppa with us.
Our monthly social competition which is held on the first Saturday of every month is very popular with our members. We meet at 1 pm and play three games of bocce. Winners receive a bottle of wine as their prize and we all enjoy a light meal to finish off the day’s event.
Our wonderful sponsors have once again supported us and we are grateful for their continued support:

  • Fred De Campo Cup was held in June
  • Tony & Mary Rosa Cup was held in July
  • Luciano & Donna Sartor Cup was held in August
  • IPCQ Cup (Col & Val Mears and Paul & Elizabeth Jeffs) held in September.

On an interclub level we have competed at Newmarket Bocce Club and they in turn have participated in the above competitions at our home courts.
A bus trip has been organised for our members to play bocce at Bundaberg Bocce Club – Across the Waves – on Saturday, 21 October 2017.
On a national level we have accepted to host the 2018 National Bocce Championships which will be held in early June 2018 at our Redlands bocce courts. We are looking forward to hosting this major event along with the Redland Sporting Club and making it a great success.
Our Special O’s players have continued to meet and enjoy playing bocce on the bocce courts every Wednesday evening under the supervision of Mary Topatig and Anna-Maria Trifaro.
