On Saturday 18th February 2012 Redlands 1st grade turned pink for a day in support of the McGrath Foundation. The first day of the match against Beenleigh/Logan was dedicated to raising funds for this great cause. We registered with the McGrath Foundation as they endeavoured to have 1000 clubs throughout Australia participating in this fundraiser.

Many thanks to everyone for supporting our “Pink Stumps Day”. It was great to see our Club Patron Mayor Melva Hobson, local Councillor Wendy Boglary and our Sport and Recreation Co Ordinator Lauren Hunn supporting our First Grade team on the day.

As an extra incentive when Redlands and Wynnum Manly Clubs play against each other, all teams are competing for the Gaskell Cup which has been donated by former Redlands and Wynnum player Mark Gaskell from Gabba Sports. It is pleasing to acknowledge that the first Gaskell Cup honours went to Redlands.

Redlands Cricket Inc is indebted to the assistance given to our players by Club coach Blair Copelin, Craig Jesberg, Damien MacKenzie, Daniel Payne and Rob Carrigan. These people have many years of experience and work with our players throughout the season developing them into better cricketers. Players such as Michael Herdman who recently captured his first 5 wicket haul in 1st grade, Jake Kubinek who returned from playing in the Imparja Cup to take 6 wickets for 29 runs and an up and coming young batsman Lachlan Brayley have benefited from the assistance of our Club coaches.
