We have had some exciting and successful events so far this year.

Clinton De Bruijn and Jacinta Gibson have been selected to represent Australia in two different events. The first event is an Olympic exhibition World Championship event in Osaka. This is a showcase event for the I.O.C. Tokyo hopes to host the Olympics in 2016 and is looking to nominate Karate as the demonstration sport.

Several varied competition series are being looked at for this event. The Osaka world championship is on the shortlist options. The competitors wear full body armour. This provides a greater degree of safety and allows a greater degree of contact, rendering the spectacle more realistic.

The second event is the JKF GK world championships in Fukuoka the following week.
