Lawn Bowls
Men’s president Derek Penny and life member Del Batten compete at the Easter Carnival.
The inaugural Wellington Point Bowls Club Easter Carnival celebrated the club’s 20th anniversary, offering $10,000 in prize money. The Men’s Saturday was won by Russell Jones, Eric Shaw, Rod Arrold and Ron Batten and the open event on Sunday and Monday attracted a high class capacity field that was won by Peter Leone’s team. The Ladies’ Day on the Tuesday was won by a team skippered by Carol Withers.

Ladies Division
The Championship Fours were won by Jeanette Somerville, Faye McDonnell, Gail Evans and Marie Melen. Gail and Merle then won the Championship Pairs. The Championship Singles are well underway and Pennants commenced on June 1.
The Ladies’ General Meeting will be held in the Bowlers’ Lounge on Tuesday, September 21.
